Liz Coulthard is a professor of cognitive neurology at the University of Bristol. She leads the multidisciplinary ReMemBR group (Research into Memory, the Brain and Dementia) and runs a cognitive disorders clinic focusing on early accurate diagnosis, with a brain health advisory service.

Her research looks at early markers of and interventions for dementia. In particular, she investigates sleep in early Alzheimer’s Disease and Lewy body diseases, and its relationship with long-term memory, with a view to developing interventions for sleep to help prevent decline and improve quality of life in prodromal and established dementia.

In addition, she sits on the editorial board of the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, and is chair of the Association of British Neurologists fellowship panel.
