John co-leads the Bristol BRC’s translational data science theme.
John is Professor in Clinical Epidemiology and Primary Care at the University of Bristol and is the previous Director of the NIHR ARC West. He is also lead for Bristol in the NIHR School of Primary Care Research and a senior scientist at the University of Bristol’s Centre for Academic Primary Care (CAPC).
Alongside his academic work, John is a specialist foster carer in North Somerset, with his wife. John was also a GP in Hartcliffe from 2007 – 2023.
